If your child is new to Edmonton Public Schools, you can register for school online. Visit the Division website to learn how to register for school.

You will need to pre-enrol on SchoolZone to tell us the school you’d like your child to attend next year. Find important dates and deadlines and learn more about pre-enrolment, which opens between March and April each year.

If you have questions about registering for school, contact the school office at 587-489-4700.

Please note that Roberta MacAdams School is unlikely to have space for families living outside of our attendance area neighbourhoods: Blackmud Creek/Southbrook, MacEwan, Richford, BlackburneCashman and Cavanagh.

If families are unable to register online, they can submit a paper copy.

    Register online

      • Before Feb. 2: Families registering for the current school year (2020-21) can continue to use the online registration Google Form available from their preferred school.

      • Starting Feb 2: All families can register using the new online registration process on epsb.ca.

    Register using the paper copy

Submitting a registration package after the deadline of 4:00 pm on April 15, 2021, may limit your options to schools with available space. See registration dates and deadlines.

    Kindergarten registrations

Kindergarten registration opens on February 2, 2021. Families registering for Kindergarten will need to follow a new online process for the 2021-22 school year. Learn more about Kindergarten registration on epsb.ca.

    • Kindergarten registrations are not based on a first-come, first-served basis. Schools can only assign students to classes after pre-enrolment closes on April 15.
    • When assigning students, the principal is responsible for organizing classes to meet the needs of all students within the school.
    • If your child has special education needs and requires specialized supports and services, please contact Karen Keats Whelan, Principal, at Karen.KeatsWhelan@epsb.ca.

    Kindergarten age

Children who are five years old on or before December 31, 2021 may register in Kindergarten for the 2021-22 school year. The Alberta government changed the entry age for students registering in Kindergarten, beginning in 2020-21.

Use our online calculator to find out when a child can start Kindergarten.

Once you have submitted your completed student registration form and supporting documents, we will review all of the documents. Submitting the student registration form and supporting documents is not confirmation of enrolment. We will contact you by phone or email to confirm your enrolment. We will also contact you if we need clarification about any of the documents you submit.

Principal's Message

Karen Keats WhelanReading Debbie Marshall’s compelling biography of Roberta MacAdams, Give Your Other Vote to the Sister, deepened the tremendous sense of responsibility I feel toward leading this school community. Roberta MacAdams  exemplified service to others through her courage, commitment, compassion and deep appreciation of the value of community. Her contributions are a  significant part of our identity and history in Alberta, and I am forever grateful  to Debbie Marshall for “reclaiming the life” of an ordinary Canadian woman  “who stepped out and did something extraordinary.”

           Courage      Commitment      Compassion      Community

As principal of Roberta MacAdams School, I come to your community as both a mother of two boys and as a dedicated educator. I have always been profoundly aware of the trust and faith parents and caregivers place in the school and in those who care for their children. Please know that your child will always be at the heart of our “shared work” at Roberta MacAdams School.  I look forward to our shared journey and the unimaginable possibilities this inspires!

Karen Keats Whelan, Ph.D.

“Child, give me your hand
That I may walk in the light
Of your faith in me.”
