Welcome

Dear Families,

Welcome to Roberta MacAdams School! We are excited by the opportunity to share with you the exemplary work students, staff and parents are engaged in across our school and community. At Roberta MacAdams School, we are committed to nurturing each child's curiosity, interests and strengths and providing multiple pathways to success for every learner. The image of a child as strong, resourceful, capable and contributing inspires the teaching and learning experiences that take shape at our school.

We have a dedicated and caring staff, a motivating and progressive learning environment and a welcoming family atmosphere. Roberta MacAdams School is a great place to learn, live and grow together!

Principal's Message

Karen Keats WhelanReading Debbie Marshall’s compelling biography of Roberta MacAdams, Give Your Other Vote to the Sister, deepened the tremendous sense of responsibility I feel toward leading this school community. Roberta MacAdams exemplified service to others through her courage, commitment, compassion and deep appreciation of the value of community. Her contributions are a  significant part of our identity and history in Alberta, and I am forever grateful  to Debbie Marshall for “reclaiming the life” of an ordinary Canadian woman  “who stepped out and did something extraordinary.”

           Courage      Commitment      Compassion      Community

As principal of Roberta MacAdams School, I come to your community as both a mother of two sons and as a dedicated educator. I have always been profoundly aware of the trust and faith parents and caregivers place in the school and in those who care for their children. Please know that your child will always be at the heart of our “shared work” at Roberta MacAdams School.  I look forward to our shared journey and the unimaginable possibilities this inspires!

Karen Keats Whelan, Ph.D.

“Child, give me your hand
That I may walk in the light
Of your faith in me.”
